The drums for Cate Le Bon’s new album were recorded by Simon in the Live room with Stella Mogzawa (Warpaint) on drums. The whole thing was done over various time zones between Wales and Australia via the Audio Movers app!

Simon and Chloe recorded the new Courtney Barnett album over a few weeks in 2020/21. We even got a little plaque thing when it went no. 1 on the UK Americana

The one and only Jack Ladder tracked his new record with Simon and Chloe, entirely to tape except strings which were added in Texas!

BOY AND BEAR

Are right in the middle of a new self-produced record, with Simon helping out on the buttons and dials.

THE BUOYS

Antonia Gauchi has been recording and mixing tracks with The Buoys in Studio 1, the Live Room and her own mix room.

LIME CORDIALE

The new album from Lime Cordiale was made between Studio 1, Oceanic Studio and a North Coast farmhouse with Dave Hammer producing and Simon Berckelman on the controls. Great example of pushing the equipment to tape and the bold drum sound of the Live Room, it’s produced 3 high-rotation singles on jjj, a Hottest 100 #9 and even a Hottest 200 of the decade!

MOANING LISA

Ben Moore and Moaning Lisa have scored jjj high rotation lately, with tracks recorded and mixed in the Live Room and Ben’s Harvest studio upstairs at Golden Retriever.

NICK LITTLEMORE

Nick from Empire Of The Sun and PNAU came in to capture some sounds with Simon for his Two Leaves Project. 9 Percussionists, a choir of spiritual singers and over 300 instruments tracked and mixed live to two tracks of tape left some very satisfied and very tired boys.

THE INTERNET

While on the Laneway tour the Internet booked in for an enjoyable session in the Live Room and Studio 1 with Simon on the controls, resulting in a chunk of their killer new album.

ART VS SCIENCE

Since recording their platinum selling debut EP and LP, Simon has enjoyed a fruitful recording relationship with Art vs Science. Currently working on their forth coming album, you can hear the first single (recorded and mixed at Golden Retriever) here.  

BODY TYPE

Body Type have been in the studio recording their debut EP with Antonia Gaucci and Kon Kersting.

THE TAMBOURINE GIRLS

The Tambourine Girls tracked their new album in the live room with super producer Tim Whitten. Listen to the first track from the new album below.

Stu tracked and mixed his new album in Studio 1 with Simon Berckelman engineering and Tim Hart (Boy and Bear) producing.

BRIGHTNESS

Brightness came in to record, mix and shoot some awesome live videos. Sound recorded and mixed by Simon, videos produced by the excellent Exit Films and directed by Mitch Grant. 

ANDY BULL

Andy Bull has been working with Simon on a new album. The album will feature members of Megan Washington's band and Holy Holy. Nothing's released yet, so watch this space!
